Itinerary

We begin our Tsho Rolpa Lake trek by driving from Kathmandu to Shigati. The drive lasts for about 6-7 hours, and we get to see pretty rivers and mountains along the way. After stopping for lunch, we continue our drive, passing through farmed hills and villages, with a view of Mt. Gaurishankar. Finally, we reach Shigati village, where we stay overnight in a local lodge.

After breakfast, we begin walking to Jagat. We follow a small path next to the Tama Koshi River, cross a cool bridge, and then climb uphill. Along the way, we see some pretty sights, like the Gaurishankar mountain. We pass through bridges and see some special stones and wheels before reaching Jagat. We sleep in a cozy teahouse there.

After breakfast, we walk down to the river through the trees and cross a small river using a cool bridge to reach Gonggar village. We go up stone steps, see waterfalls, and walk through fields to get to the Sherpa village of Chhetchhet. We cross another bridge and go up more hills to reach Simigaon, where we can see the big Mt. Gaurishankar. We stay overnight in a teahouse in Simigaon after exploring a Buddhist Monastery.

After breakfast, we walk down a hill, then climb some big stone steps. We go through a forest and up and down trails to reach the pretty Rolwaling River. We walk through more trees and see the big Gaurishankar mountain. We climb a cliff to get to Gyalchen, where we spend the night in a teahouse.

After breakfast, we walk through the trees to Nyamare village. We have lunch there and keep walking up and down until we reach Beding, the biggest village in Rolwaling. We take a break to see the snowy mountains and waterfalls. We sleep in a teahouse in Beding.

After breakfast, we walk from Beding to Na Gaun. We go up a little by the Rolwaling River and reach Dhogre, where we see a different view of the big Gaurishankar mountain. The path opens up to a big grassy area, and we pass special stones with flags. There's a large painting on a big rock. After a few hours, we reach Na Gaun, a village surrounded by walls and mountains. We sleep in a teahouse there.

After breakfast, we explore Na Gaun village and get used to the high place. We can take a little walk to Ramdung to see the pretty mountains, like Gauri Shanker and others. We also visit the famous Yalung Glacier camp, which is really beautiful. After that, we come back and sleep in a teahouse in Na village.

After breakfast, we start the best part of our trek – going to the amazing Tsho Rolpa Lake. We leave Na Gaon, cross some cool bridges over the river, and walk up a hill to reach green fields. Then, we go to two glaciers and walk on rocky ice parts to finally see the beautiful Tsho Rolpa Lake. The lake is so pretty, and we explore the area before sleeping in a tent or teahouse.

After breakfast, we explore the big Tsho Rolpa Lake. It's the largest glacial lake in Nepal, way up at 4580 meters. The lake is turquoise and has snowy mountains all around, and you can see the mountains' reflection in the lake. People think the lake has grown because of global warming. We take amazing pictures and stay overnight in a tent or teahouse.

After breakfast, we walk back to Beding, taking pictures of the big glacial lake along the way. We go the same way we came before, and stop for lunch in Na Gaun. Then, we keep walking to Beding, and sleep overnight in a teahouse.

After breakfast, we trek up to the Daldung La pass from Beding. We go uphill through different plants and animals, cross a big bridge over a deep gorge, and walk through a nice Sherpa village with great mountain views. If you go at the right time, you might see a temporary Yak shed called “Yak Naka.” After a few hours of walking, we reach the Daldung La pass and stay overnight in a teahouse.

After breakfast, we walk down from Daldung La pass to Simi Gaun. Going downhill from Kyalche is a bit hard, but we use stone stairs. After a few hours, we reach Simi Gaun and sleep in a teahouse.

After breakfast, we walk up a hill on a rocky path. We see pretty hills with farms and nice waterfalls. We cross some cool bridges over Himalayan rivers. After a few hours, we reach Jagat and sleep in a teahouse.

After breakfast, we walk to Shigati from Jagat. We cross a cool bridge and follow the river to get to Manthali village. We go down trails with special stones and wheels to another bridge. Then, we walk along a small path next to Tama Koshi River until we reach Shigati.

After breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu from Shigati, and our Tsho Rolpa Lake trek ends. It takes about 6-7 hours on the winding roads of the Araniko highway to reach Kathmandu.
