Itinerary

Arrive in Kathmandu and be greeted by a representative who will escort you to your 3-star hotel at 1,350 meters. Rest at the hotel or explore Thamel for some final shopping and enjoy local cafes and restaurants before your journey begins.

On day 2, get ready for the trek and explore Kathmandu today. Your guide will show you around key places like Pashupatinath, a sacred Hindu temple, Bouddhanath, a Buddhist temple known as 'Little Tibet,' and Swayambhunath, also called the Monkey Temple. Afterward, we'll visit Kathmandu's Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and then you can do some last-minute shopping in Thamel. Back at the hotel, your guide will assist you in preparing for the trek.

On day 3, travel from Kathmandu to Shigati by jeep, enjoying the changing landscapes and occasional surprises like sudden views of snow-clad mountains. Along the way, visit the Bhimeshwor Temple, an ancient site in Dolakha. After about an hour on a rough road, reach the camping spot by the Tama Kosi River, where you'll spend the night. Meals are included - breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Today's trek from Shigati to Jagat takes about 5-6 hours. The trail goes into the Bhote Koshi Valley near the Tibetan border, passing through valleys, terraced farmland, and charming villages. You'll walk through a dense rhododendron forest and cross a suspension bridge before reaching Jagat. Enjoy breathtaking views of Gaurishankar, the second-highest peak in Rolwaling Himal. On day 5, trek from Jagat to Simigaon for about 5-6 hours, moving eastward and climbing to the Sherpa and Tamang village of Simigaon. The countryside is filled with terraced farmland, and atop a hill above Gaurishankar, you'll find a Tibetan monastery. Spend the night in tents with meals included.

On day 6, trek from Simigaon to Donga for about 5-6 hours, passing through a rhododendron and bamboo forest before entering the Rolwaling Valley. The trail gradually goes up to Gyalche (1760m) and then descends to the river valley. Camp for the night by the banks of the Rolwaling Khola (river) beneath the towering Mt. Gaurishankar.

On day 7, trek from Donga to Beding for about 5-6 hours, going uphill through a forest with stunning mountain views. Upon reaching Beding, enjoy a clear view of Mt. Melungtse I (7181m), the highest peak in the Rolwaling Himal. Beding is a traditional Sherpa village known for its hospitality, Chaang (barley beer), salted yak butter tea, and a significant Buddhist monastery. Camp for the night by the river in Beding.

On day 8, take a rest and acclimatization day in Beding, an essential step before going to higher altitudes. To stay active and aid acclimatization, you have the option to trek to Malung La Pass (5616m). As you climb, enjoy spectacular views of over fifteen snow-capped peaks, glaciers, and the forest below. Spend the night camping in Beding.

On day 9, trek from Beding to Na, a short distance along the riverbank. Explore vivid blue glacial lakes and the surrounding mountains reflecting in them. Na village, nestled below Tsho Rolpa Glacier Lake, offers stunning views of snow-clad peaks like Chobutse (6685m), Chugimago (6259m), and Yalung Ri (5630m). Camp for the night in this small Sherpa village.

On day 10, acclimatize to prevent altitude sickness with the option of trekking to Yalung La Pass (5094m). Enjoy stunning views of Ramdung Peak's glacier and numerous streams. From the pass, see Tsho-Rolpa glacier lake, Yalung Glacier, Ramdung Peak (5930m), Yalung Ri (5630m), and the Himalayas toward the border with Tibet. Spend the night in a tent at Na.

On day 11, trek from Na to Nyiduk Kongma for about 5-6 hours. The trail leads to the dam holding Tsho-Rolpa Lake. Due to the lake's expansion and unstable nature, early warning systems are in place on the dam wall to protect livestock and over 6000 villagers downstream on the Tamakoshi River. Set up camp for the night in an amphitheater-like area between Tsho Rolpa and Trakarding glaciers.

On day 12, trek from Nyiduk Kongma to Drolumbau Glacier for about 5-6 hours. Climb a 160-meter rock face to reach the camping site. The area is a massive rocky terrain with stunning views of Trakarding glacier below and Drolumbau glacier in the north, along with numerous streams flowing from the glacier. Camp here for the night.

On day 13, trek from Drolumbau Glacier to Tashi Lapcha Pass (5755m) and descend to the camp at 5460m for about 7-9 hours. The trail is challenging, climbing steeply to Drolumbau Glacier, where you'll be rewarded with fantastic views of peaks like Tengi Ragi Tau, Bigphero-Go Shar, Dragkar-Go, and others along the Tibetan border. Traverse moraines, moderate slopes, and areas of glacial ice as you ascend to the summit. Camp for the night 300m below the pass summit.

On day 14, trek from the camp below Tashi Lapcha Pass to Thame for about 5-6 hours. Descend to Thame, catching views of its picturesque monastery on a nearby hill. Enter the quaint Sherpa village, Thame, known as a gathering place and central hub for Tibetan traders and their yak caravans. Set up camp here for the night.

On day 15, it's a straightforward trek of 3 to 4 hours from Thame to Namche Bazaar, where we spend the night in a guesthouse.

On day 16, trek from Namche Bazaar to Everest View Hotel, reaching Syangboche Airport, claimed to be the world's highest airport, and then continue to the hotel known for panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam, Tawache, and other peaks. On the way back, visit the Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery. Spend the night in guesthouse accommodation with meals included.
