Overview
The Kanchenjunga trek is a special journey where you can see Sherpa culture and the pretty Himalayas. You can stay in simple lodges or tents at the base camp, and the company will give you a permit to enter the Kanchenjunga Conservation area. The trek usually takes 19 days, but we can change it based on what you like. You’ll see traditional farming, like growing cardamom and apples, along the way.
As you walk, you’ll go through jungles full of birds and forests with colorful rhododendron flowers. Besides the big mountains, the path to Kanchenjunga base camp is very beautiful, with rivers, ponds, and waterfalls. Our trek takes you to a part of Nepal that not many tourists visit. It’s a unique experience in the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area. Kanchenjunga is the third tallest mountain, and people here believe it’s a sacred place. The trek shows you amazing mountain views, different plants and animals, and an old culture.
The adventure starts with a short flight to Biratnagar, then another one to Suketar, where you begin walking. You’ll pass villages like Mitlung, Chirwa, Sukethum, Amjilosa, Gyabla, Ghunsa, Kambachen, and Lhonak, reaching the northern base camp of Pangpema or Kanchenjunga. After enjoying the base camp, you’ll come back the same way. People in these villages are from different tribes like Limbu, Rai, Tamang, Brahmin, and Chhetri. Higher up, Sherpa people live with a culture influenced by Tibet.
